Printing House KOPA and the Pažaislis Music Festival extend an invitation to "be"

Nothing brings people closer together than shared values, aspirations and ideas. Driven by our long-standing and successful collaboration and friendship, we embraced this autumn with a jointly organised evening alongside the Pažaislis Music Festival, where we reminisced about the musical highlights of the past summer, celebrated our collaborative efforts and reflected on the ideas we jointly conceived and brought to life.

On 29 September, we invited supporters of the Pažaislis Music Festival and clients of KOPA Printing House to partake in an evening of music and visual arts in the distinctive environment of KOPA Printing House. The evening commenced with a warm welcome from the musicians of the cello ensemble of Kaunas Juozas Naujalis Music Gymnasium, who presented the programme "From Baroque to Rock." Featuring iconic compositions spanning different eras – from Handel, Losy, Besard, Lennon and McCartney to the cello metal band Apocalyptica – the programme showcased the diversity of musical expression.

Guests not only enjoyed the musical performances but also experienced the dynamic interplay of sound, dance and visual art. The focal point of the evening was the captivating performance by the Percussion Trio, accompanied by contemporary dance artist and choreographer Stefanija Nosovaite. In a surprising twist, the stage was set on the production floor of the printing house, adorned with a vast canvas. Against the backdrop of compositions by Reich, Trevino, Zivković and others, dance movements brought to life an expressive painting using the four main colours employed in offset printing. Through an improvisational performance, the dance artist invited the audience to "be", observe and immerse themselves in the lived moment of the evening.

Recognising that the intricacies of printing remain a mystery to many, we invited our guests to actively participate in the printing process and contribute to the creation of a publication capturing the essence of the Pažaislis Music Festival season and the memorable moments of the evening. Milda Miklaševičiūtė, the printing press technologist, along with Edgars Montvidas, the artistic director of the Pažaislis Music Festival, delivered a witty and comprehensive presentation of each stage of the printing process, from the emergence of the image on plates and the printing on paper to cutting, folding and assembling the prints into a cohesive publication.

Armed with the newly produced publications, the guests spent an extended time exploring the premises of the printing house, exchanging impressions and ideas, and relishing in new experiences and connections.
